This is the weblog of Mrs. Mackey’s English I classes at South Lenoir High School. In this yearlong course, we are preparing ourselves to pass the English I EOC and have a better understanding of the English language in general. We will use our weblog to enhance our technological skills as we explore literature, grammar, and communication.
More than a word from the teacher…
Hello! For the parents and guardians that I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting, let me introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Gina Justice Mackey and this is my third year as a teacher at South Lenoir High School. I am a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I received my B.A. in English. I received my Master’s of Arts in Teaching at East Carolina University in December of 2008.
As a teacher, it is my goal to make sure that every student in my class has the resources and support they need in order to succeed. Should you ever have any concerns, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to get in touch with me using the contact information below. Additionally, I am a firm believer that learning can be fun. I make every effort to not only help my students learn, but also keep them engaged in the learning process. Throughout the semester, students will podcast, write, type, blog, and even draw so that they can really connect with their studies!
